Kristen Sharkey Joins MWW As Senior Vice President And East Coast Technology Practice Lead
Sharkey Brings Key Enterprise and Consumer Experience to MWW's Expanding Technology Practice
NEW YORK, Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MWW (www.mww.com), one of the top-five global independent public relations firms, announced today that Kristen Sharkey has joined MWW as senior vice president and East Coast technology practice lead. With more than 17 years of experience, Sharkey rounds out MWW's technology practice executive team with strength in enterprise, consumer, financial, ad/media and health technology verticals.
In her new role, Sharkey will oversee MWW's East Coast team and operations and will work with MWW's technology practice lead to manage and develop the rapidly growing U.S. technology practice at MWW. With a technology team that works cohesively and as one P&L across San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and Dallas, Sharkey will apply her leadership, industry knowledge and client relations expertise to help manage and grow the practice as a whole.
Sharkey joins MWW from Makovsky, where she served as the executive vice president and technology practice lead overseeing a diverse group of clients in the areas of enterprise technology, mobility, ad-tech, business services and health technology.

Prior to her most recent post at Makovsky, Sharkey served as global lead for Honeywell's Automated Control Systems account, led the North American, Financial Services and World Reports accounts for Capgemini and was the relationship lead for MasterCard's eCommerce and Core Products at Weber Shandwick. She previously served as a vice president at Hill & Knowlton working with organizations on technology security and privacy issues, product recalls and litigation concerns as a member of the crisis team and helped lead the HSBC and Deloitte Consulting and Tax Practices accounts.
Throughout her 17 year career, Sharkey has worked with brands such as WebMD, Bank of America, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Jackson Hewitt, Thompson Corporation, GE Capital, Factiva, TXU, Mirant, Computer Associates (CA), Entrust Technologies, E*Trade, Arrow Electronics, NFL, Mercedes Benz, Pitney Bowes, Dun & Bradstreet, Travelport/Orbitz, Bausch & Lomb, Kerzner, Financial Times, HP, and Amdocs.
Sharkey earned her Master of Science degree in communications and public relations at Boston University. She also holds a degree in political science from Fairfield University.
