"After a thorough due-diligence process, the KCECD committee selected Intergraph as the clear choice to support our mission of providing the best possible public safety services to our citizens. Intergraph and Intrado provide the Next-Gen 9-1-1 technology we need to enable growth in the future," said Robert Coker, 9-1-1 director at KCECD.
Serving 400,000 residents and receiving more than 700,000 calls annually, KCECD requires a system that supports the demand of call-taking from dispatch responsibilities for multiple agencies, including the Knoxville Police Department, the Knoxville Fire Department, the Knox County Sheriff's Office, and Rural Metro, which covers all EMS calls in the city and county and all fire calls in the unincorporated portions of Knox County.
"Intrado's partnership with Intergraph allows Knox County to begin the migration to next-generation technology and move toward integrated call control with the ability to receive next-gen 9-1-1 communications such as text messages and multimedia files," said Allen Carr, Vice President – Product Development, Intrado. "We are excited to see KCECD benefit from Intergraph and Intrado's collaboration to advance its 9-1-1 technology."
Intergraph's software allows Knox County to benefit from real-time communication and collaboration for day-to-day delivery of public safety services among all of its agencies. Using Intergraph's public safety technology, KCECD will increase information sharing and reporting capabilities. KCECD will also be able to streamline operations and reduce cost while improving response times.
