KIRCO's Wiegand Honored as the 2016 Property Manager of the Year by the Building Owners and Managers Association
TROY, Mich., Nov. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- KIRCO's Senior Property Manager Cindy Wiegand received the 2016 Property Manager of the Year Award from the Building Owners and Managers Association/Metro Detroit (BOMA/Metro Detroit) on November 4 at The Outstanding Building of the Year and Leadership Awards at the Motor City Casino Sound Board in Detroit.
"We are very proud of Cindy for being named the 2016 Property Manager of the Year," said David Hales, executive vice president, asset and property management, KIRCO. "This award is very well-deserved, as Cindy continuously delivers a high degree of commitment and provides exceptional service to both her tenants and ownership."
As the senior property manager at KIRCO's Brewery Complex Park in Detroit, Wiegand has been instrumental in the complex's ability to remain a Class-A facility during her tenure, largely due to her diligent efforts to continually improve the operational efficiencies and aesthetic experience for both tenants and ownership. Additionally, she coordinates and manages all capital improvements and acts as project manager for tenant construction build outs.
Wiegand has been a member of BOMA for 12 years and has played an active role in the organization by serving as the chair of the BOMA Works Community Affairs Committee for the past seven years. In this role, she organized a number of outreach projects including fundraisers and made major improvements to the living conditions at the Detroit HAZMAT station. Previously, Wiegand was the recipient of the following BOMA awards: the 2012 Emerging Leader of the Year Award; the 2014 Outstanding Service Award; and the 2015 President's Award.
The BOMA/Metro Detroit Leadership Awards recognize the contributions of industry professionals who have gone above and beyond and make a difference through outstanding and committed service, engagement and customer experience in the local commercial real estate industry. Candidates must have been employed as a property manager for a minimum of three years at the time of nomination and must be a member of BOMA to be considered for this award. The Awards Committee Members evaluate all award nominees by the following criteria: length of service in management; coworker or supervisor recommendations; tenant recommendations; professional development; and participation in civic and community affairs.
