Kids II, Inc. Initiates Legal Action Against Baby Trend, Inc.

ATLANTA, Feb. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Kids II, Inc. announced they filed legal action on February 15, 2011 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California against Baby Trend, Inc. for a number of intellectual property violations. Specifically, the Complaint alleges that Baby Trend has infringed and diluted the trade dress of Kids II's Bright Starts™ Comfort & Harmony™ Sweet Splendor Bouncer and has infringed Kids II's copyright on its instruction manual for its Bright Starts™ Pretty in Pink™ Melodies Bouncer.  The Complaint requests injunctive relief as well as monetary damages.

Baby Trend has several pending lawsuits filed against it, including, but not limited to, a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Graco.  Baby Trend filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2009, citing a wrongful termination judgment of $8 million owed to a former employee.
