Kick Off the 2011/12 School Year with Vernier's Free Hands-On STEM Workshops
Fall workshops teach educators how to integrate data-collection into the science curriculum using Vernier's 'LabQuest' handhelds
BEAVERTON, Ore., July 12, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Starting this September, educators can attend one of Vernier's free Fall workshops to learn about the many ways that data-collection technology can be integrated into their STEM curricula. Providing educators with hands-on instruction using Vernier's LabQuest, educators can enhance their teaching and technology skills during each 4-hour workshop.
Led by an experienced Vernier trainer, educators will use the LabQuest, the most powerful and intuitive interface ever designed by Vernier, to learn important information, skills and strategies for incorporating data-collection technology into their chemistry, biology, physics, middle school science, physical science or Earth science instruction.
"The use of data-collection technology lets students view data in real time and analyze scientific phenomena using analytical tools scientists would use," said David Vernier, co-founder of Vernier and a former physics teacher. "These workshops provide educators with the skills and background they need to integrate the technology into their classroom and truly engage students in the scientific learning process."
