Ketchum and Mattel Capture PRWeek's 2011 Campaign of the Year Award, Marking an Unprecedented Third Time an Agency Takes the Honor
Agency and Its Clients Receive Two Awards and Three Honorable Mentions
NEW YORK, March 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ketchum, a leading public relations agency, and its work on behalf of Mattel were awarded Campaign of the Year at the 12th annual PRWeek Awards held last evening in New York City. This is the third consecutive year that Ketchum and its clients have received this honor. In addition, Ketchum received an award for its work on behalf of Absolut Vodka and an honorable mention for the Skinny Cow program, and sister company Access took an honorable mention for its work with 2K Sports.
Rounding out the night, Ketchum was also recognized with an honorable mention for Large Agency of the Year. Ketchum has been named a finalist in the Agency of the Year category eight times since the event's inception in 1999, winning the category in 2002 and receiving an honorable mention in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.
"I could not be more proud of the extraordinary recognition Ketchum received last evening for the work we do on behalf of our clients," said Ray Kotcher, senior partner and CEO of Ketchum. "Being the only agency to be awarded Campaign of the Year for a third straight year is truly remarkable and is a measure of the talent we have at Ketchum, the power of the ideas we create for our clients, and the strength of our partnership with them."
Regarding Ketchum and Mattel's win for the program "After 125 Careers, Barbie Gets Her Geek On," PRWeek reported that "this high-profile piece of work led to genuine increased sales…and expanded Barbie's presence beyond core territory."
PRWeek Editor-in-Chief Steve Barrett noted that "particular mention goes to Ketchum for its unprecedented third Campaign of the Year triumph." In 2010, Ketchum and Dreyer's received the Campaign of the Year Award for the "Dreyer's Beat the Blues with a Taste of Recovery," and, in 2009, Ketchum and IKEA won for "Man Lives in IKEA."
