Keith Edelman and Scott Goldstein join Avison Young in Miami
Industry leaders become Principals, will expand firm's tenant-representation services
MIAMI, May 5, 2015 /CNW/ - Pike Rowley, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Florida region, announced today the strategic hiring of commercial real estate industry leaders Keith Edelman and Scott Goldstein.
Effective immediately, Edelman and Goldstein become Principals of Avison Young. Based in the company's Miami office, they will continue to work as a team while specializing in tenant representation. They will focus on servicing office market clients in Miami's central business district (CBD) and throughout South Florida.
Edelman brings 20 years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young while Goldstein brings 15. Both join Avison Young from Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Miami, where they served as Senior Vice-Presidents.
"Keith and Scott are a perfect fit for our growing platform in Florida as we continue to augment our already broad range of services to meet our clients' individual needs," comments Rowley. "In our business, qualities such as integrity, trust and confidence define the line between success and failure. Both Keith and Scott epitomize these qualities, and we are fortunate to be able to bring them to our team and our clients."
Edelman and Goldstein, during their combined 35 years of industry experience, have completed more than 1,000 transactions working with Fortune 500 companies as well as locally based entrepreneurial firms. Clients have included Harley-Davidson, JP Morgan, Heartware, Regus, Jetstream Federal Credit Union, Exxon Mobil, Automated Healthcare Solutions, Bressler Amery & Ross, Daszkal Bolton, Aetna, and the State of Florida.
Rowley continues: "After quickly growing our Florida operations by more than 400% through acquisitions, the addition of this team is a reflection of our organic growth philosophy of strategically hiring industry leaders to bolster key areas of opportunity and demand. Avison Young's approach to business is a re-engineering of the traditional real estate organization: eliminating service-line silos, streamlining infrastructure and identifying best-in-class external resources to develop the widest possible toolkit for clients. Our Principal-led firm provides commitment and accountability to clients who are best served when dealing with an owner instead of a faceless corporation. By adding Keith and Scott as Principals, we are continuing to fulfill our mandate of putting the client first."
During his career, Edelman has gained considerable expertise in marketing, financial analysis, strategy implementation and lease negotiations while servicing tenants in South Florida. Goldstein has developed experience in office site selection, evaluation and lease negotiations on behalf of clients in the professional services, technology and governmental sectors.
Adds Rowley: "These strategic hires demonstrate that Avison Young's employees are underpinning the firm's investment in expanding our operations in Florida. Since late 2012, we have attracted more than 120 of the state's most respected and leading professionals in each commercial real estate sector – and we're continuing to recruit top talent."
Avison Young entered the Florida real estate market with 30 team members in Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Boca Raton in October 2012. The firm has expanded steadily since then, opening additional offices in West Palm Beach, Tampa and Orlando.
"In order to remain at the forefront of our highly competitive industry, Avison Young recognizes the need to continually add new resources to the company. Keith and Scott have developed outstanding reputations in the market and among their clients," notes Donna Abood, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Miami office.
Over the past six years, Avison Young has grown from 11 to 66 offices and from 300 to more than 1,700 real estate professionals in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
"We are excited to join Avison Young at a time when the firm is strategically expanding and the dynamic of the south Florida market is rapidly changing," says Edelman. "We believe in the culture that Avison Young is creating, whereby teamwork and collaboration are expected. This puts us in a favorable position where we get to partner with some of the most experienced, talented and well-respected real estate professionals."
"The overall topography of commercial real estate has changed greatly in recent years, and clients are demanding more complex offerings and expertise delivered over a seamlessly integrated and linear platform," adds Goldstein. "Avison Young's Principal-led culture is truly different and the benefits – both externally and internally – are accentuated at every touch point. We're excited to be part of Avison Young's impressive growth here in Florida and globally."
Today's announcement comes on the heels of Avison Young acquiring Philadelphia-based Remington Group, Inc. on May 4, 2015.
