Kayem To Crown Winner Of Second Annual "Create Fenway's Next Frank" At Free National Hot Dog Day Grilling Event
To celebrate National Hot Dog Day, Kayem and Red Sox icons will announce the "lucky dog" who will have their hot dog creation sold at Fenway Park
CHELSEA, Mass., July 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Kayem, the official Frank and Sausage of the Boston Red Sox and Fenway Park, today announced that Peter Anastasi of Watertown, MA and Dana DiSantis of Peru, MA are the top two finalists for the second annual Create Fenway's Next Frank contest. One "lucky dog" will be crowned the grand prize winner on National Hot Dog Day, July 23, at a special lunchtime celebration and free hot dog sampling at Boston Harbor Cruises' The Landing at Long Wharf. At the event, Red Sox icons Steve Lyons and Rico Petrocelli will personally announce the grand prize winner, whose home run hot dog will be sold within Fenway Park throughout the summer.
During the event, the two finalists will sample their hot dog creations to the public, with the winning hot dog honored on-field prior to the Red Sox game versus Toronto on Monday, July 28. In addition to the honor and bragging rights of having their hot dog sold within Fenway Park, the grand prize winner will also receive a $1,000 Cash Gift Card. The runner up will receive a $500 Cash Gift Card.
Peter's "Greenville Southern Drive Dog," a deliciously grilled Kayem Fenway Frank, topped with warm, smokey pulled pork and creamy coleslaw for an irresistible crunch. Dana's creation of "The Monstah," features Boston baked beans, honey mustard, warm sweet onion, sharp cheddar cheese, and crispy smokey bacon bits on top of a Kayem Fenway Frank.
Kayem's National Hot Dog Day celebration will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a free Kayem Frank and have their photo taken with Steve Lyons and Rico Petrocelli and the Red Sox 2013 World Championship Rings. Attendees can also enter raffles for a chance to win Kayem and Boston Harbor Cruises prizes.

On July 2, Kayem presented its lineup of the top five franks, as selected by Kayem, and Facebook fans had the chance to vote for their favorite. Peter Leibowitz of Hudson, Massachusetts won the first contest in 2013 for his "Big Puppi," which featured a Kayem All Beef Fenway Frank topped with spicy ketchup, yellow mustard, sautéed onions, cheese and potato sticks.
The announcement of the Create Fenway's Next Frank winner follows another exciting announcement by Kayem earlier this summer. In June, Kayem launched its new all-natural Artisan Sausage line.
