IRVINE, Calif., July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern California automaker Karma will bring the luxury electric vehicle experience to The Hamptons at summer events that raise funds for breast cancer research, as well as for local artist residency and education programs for young and emerging artists. Karma will also participate in an art and car event at The Bridge. The Hamptons are on the easternmost part of New York's Long Island and have become world famous for being an affluent summer destination.
"We're looking forward to our summer in The Hamptons, which will be the kick-off of a series of nationwide events to showcase Karma," said Jim Taylor, Automotive Chief Revenue Officer. "Karma Long Island of the Experience Auto Group is a new dealer for us, and its founder, Stuart Hayim, is a cancer survivor and a fundraiser for cancer research. So it makes sense for Karma to support fundraising efforts for cancer research here in Stuart's backyard."
Karma is an official automotive supporter of The Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink, an annual event benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Founded by entrepreneur and BCRF Board Member Maria Baum, The Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink is a World Paddle Association sanctioned points race that attracts hundreds of spectators and raised nearly $1.8 million last year at what's become one of the hottest signature events on the Hamptons' summer circuit. Past attendees have included Ryan Seacrest, Jimmy Buffet, DJ Questlove, Gabrielle Reece and Laird Hamilton. At this year's August 4 event, Karma will host a vehicle display and test drives, giving attendees the opportunity to experience the ultimate luxury mobility experience.
Karma also is an official sponsor of the annual Watermill Center Summer Benefit and Auction that brings together the worlds of art, performance, music, theatre, design, architecture and fashion on July 28 to support The Center's year-round Artist Residency and Education Programs. In celebration of its 25th anniversary, The Watermill Center has invited 1,000 guests to experience a world conceived by Founder and Artistic Director Robert Wilson alongside more than 100 international artists. Karma will share its own vision of art and design with a display featuring Revero.
Capping off the summer in The Hamptons for Karma will be an appearance at an iconic setting that is hallowed ground in racing history, The Bridge, which will feature more than 100 automobiles and an extended art component featuring revered Manhattan galleries and renowned artists. A sponsor since the event's first year, Karma will display two vehicles, including the James Verbicky "Art Car." The Laguna Beach, Calif., artist accentuated and emphasized the soul of Karma Revero with symbolic imagery and blocked color fields.
