OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaiser Permanente's mail-order pharmacy was ranked highest in customer satisfaction by the J.D. Power 2016 U.S. Pharmacy Study,SM marking the seventh time since 2009 that the organization has earned the top spot in this prestigious consumer study.
The J.D. Power study measures customer pharmacy satisfaction based on responses from nearly 15,000 customers who filled new prescriptions or refilled current prescriptions in the three months before the survey. The study measures customer satisfaction for five factors: prescription ordering process, prescription delivery, cost competitiveness, interaction with the pharmacist, and interaction with the non-pharmacist staff. In addition to this year's study, Kaiser Permanente earned the highest ranking 2009 through 2014.
"Our mail-order pharmacy is an important part of our commitment to providing our members with high-quality, convenient and affordable care," said Joseph Douglas, vice president, National Outpatient Pharmacy Services, Kaiser Permanente. "It is great to see that our efforts to provide excellent service are reflected in this study. We know that receiving prescriptions by mail not only increases our members' satisfaction, but also improves medication adherence, which helps promote their total health."
