Joe Gibbs Racing Selects ARRIS to Build State-of-the-Art Enterprise Wi-Fi® Network at North Carolina Headquarters
ARRIS continues to build on its commitment to deliver leading-edge technology to the racing world
SUWANEE, Ga., July 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- ARRIS International plc (NASDAQ: ARRS) designed and deployed an enterprise-grade Wi-Fi network for its partner, Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR), at the team's worldwide headquarters in Huntersville, North Carolina.
"We selected ARRIS to build a new, high-speed Wi-Fi network that's up to 15 times faster than our current network, to meet the needs of our growing racing team. Joe Gibbs Racing invests in the best technology and innovation, and we've expanded our partnership with ARRIS to ensure that we're ahead of the curve both at the shop as well as on the track. Wi-Fi is a critical component in our everyday operations, including the production of our racecars." said Jim Foley, Chief Technology Officer, JGR.
"The team at JGR knows speed, so they appreciate the fast and reliable performance that ARRIS brings to wireless collaboration and communication. This project is an extension of our industry-leading work in enterprise-grade Wi-Fi deployments across the country and demonstrates our ability to customize and integrate a Wi-Fi solution for any environment," said Dan Whalen, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Services, ARRIS.
This new installation represents the evolution of JGR and ARRIS's partnership, building on a strong relationship between the racing team and sponsor. ARRIS also sponsors Carl Edwards in the No. 19 Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Daniel Suarez in the 2016 NASCAR XFINITY Series in the No. 19 Toyota Camry, as well as a partial schedule in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
ARRIS continues to increase its involvement in transforming NASCAR communications. Last year, ARRIS Global Services installed and managed new Internet services connecting NASCAR Productions to race teams on the track in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™. ARRIS's E6000® Converged Edge Router powered communications to SURFboard® SB6183 modems provided to each team, enabling the high-speed information exchange for teams to push the envelope of the sport.
Earlier this year, ARRIS brought Carrier-Class Wi-Fi to the most popular fan locations at the new Daytona International Speedway (DIS) motorsports stadium—the most comprehensive Wi-Fi deployment in NASCAR history. As part of its agreement with International Speedway Corporation (ISC), the ARRIS Global Services team integrated, designed, and installed a high-speed Wi-Fi network that's providing tens of thousands of raceday fans with unprecedented speeds and coverage.
