LOS ANGELES, Dec. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- With 52 percent of consumers not satisfied with their current insurance plans and the tempest over healthcare policy reform still raging, consumers' confusion around purchasing health insurance reached a fever pitch in 2017.JOANY, a technology company simplifying the health insurance process, today announced it has compiled every plan being offered to help the more than 100,000 JOANY users make more informed decisions about their health insurance.
With 300 carriers offering nearly 10,000 different health insurance options, all of the plans available in an area aren't typically represented by a single broker or the government exchanges. JOANY used nearly 100 million data points from all 300 carriers and ran it through the company's proprietary algorithm to help consumers make the best choice for their 2018 health insurance.
"For many people, open enrollment will end on December 15, and to say that this year's open enrollment season has been a hot mess is an understatement," said Christine Carrillo, co-founder and CEO at JOANY. "People are confused as to whether they have to buy insurance, if they qualify for subsidies, and if they don't qualify for a government subsidy, where they can find the best plan that meets their family's needs. JOANY takes the stress out of purchasing health insurance simply because we're the only company in the US that sells every single plan available nationwide, including all the subsidized plans."
To support its technology forward approach to the health insurance process and capitalize on current momentum, JOANY has assembled a leadership team made up of heavy hitters from the technology space who will accelerate the company's growth.

- Adam Sant, another Dollar Shave Club alum, joins JOANY as Senior Director of Experience Design, where he'll lead JOANY's UX and visual design efforts. At Dollar Shave Club, Sant built the company's UX and User Research department from scratch.
- Anthony Zhang was recently appointed Director of Digital Growth at JOANY. Making a name for himself at an early age, Zhang launched a successful college food delivery startup, EnvoyNow, while he was still in school at USC and went on to sell his startup to food delivery company JoyRun.
- Matt Guimbarda was named Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Guimbarda was CFO at Scopely, where he helped secure over $150 million in equity capital and arranged debt facilities in excess of $75 million for the company. "These strong additions to our executive team exponentially expand our capacity for growth, enabling JOANY to do more of what we're passionate about: humanizing the health insurance experience and making it simple to understand, easy to select and painless to manage," continued Carrillo. "The trifecta of market need, our mission and these innovators joining our team, I'm confident that we will make a real difference in people's lives in 2018 and beyond. I'm honored to work alongside a team of people so talented and committed to helping consumers make the most informed choice possible on one of the most daunting, significant choices they make all year. I can't wait to see what we can accomplish together!"
