PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Jive Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: JIVE) today announced that the Portland Trail Blazers selected Jive-n to boost organizational alignment and employee engagement with an interactive approach to internal communications, project collaboration and employee support. Using Jive, Trail Blazers employees can work better together and limit time wasted in inefficient meetings and email.
The Trail Blazers organization wanted to modernize its static intranet in order to cultivate a single unified culture across front office employees who manage all operations for the NBA basketball team and the Rose Quarter, as well as the organization's part-time event staff. Jive-n will improve strategic alignment by helping executives disseminate internal news via more open, two-way dialogue, keeping the Trail Blazers workforce up-to-date and engaged in the company's strategies.
"As an organization that's constantly evolving – not just on the basketball court, but across every aspect of our business – we need to provide employees with digital technologies that help them work better together, regardless of their preferred methods of interaction," said Mike Janes, vice president of engineering and technology for the Portland Trail Blazers and the Rose Quarter. "We partnered with Jive to launch an interactive intranet because of the company's proven success delivering communication and collaboration best practices through leading-edge, mobile-friendly, best-of-breed solutions."
The new intranet will ease employee on-boarding and support by bringing together into one accessible place email, social media, HR handbooks, expense report forms and health insurance information. Jive-n will also improve project collaboration by making it easy for cross-functional teams to share ideas, questions and discussions in virtual project spaces and groups. In addition, the Trail Blazers' interactive intranet will support single sign-on and mobile access for workers on-the-go.
"Given our strong presence in Oregon, we were thrilled to sign on the Trail Blazers as one of the latest organizations to recognize the role a modern intranet can play in nurturing employee engagement and strategic alignment," said Robert Block, chief customer success officer at Jive Software. "By catering to a variety of different workstyles and habits in order to promote broad adoption for its new Jive-n solution, the team is well poised to maximize the impact of greater collaboration and productivity."
Members of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Portland Trail Blazers were founded in 1970 and purchased by Paul G. Allen in 1988. The team's rich heritage includes 31 playoff appearances, three trips to the NBA Finals, an NBA championship in 1977 and a commitment to community service and sustainability. With a corporate mission to make it better in the community, the Trail Blazers strive to help children and their families throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington live, learn and play.
The Portland Trail Blazers join other major sports and recreation organizations – like the San Francisco Giants, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Cricket Australia – that use Jive-n to enhance front-office operations and event-related communications. By leveraging Jive's market-leading collaboration solutions, these organizations are driving increased engagement and alignment amongst their evolving, often seasonal workforces.
