As a precursor to the movie and also in honor of the '80s, on June 14, JetBlue also hosted a special performance by the rock band Night Ranger at Long Beach Airport. Best known for their 1984 mega-hit "Sister Christian," which is featured in New Line Cinema's new musical film 'Rock of Ages,' Night Ranger performed the first-ever live musical concert at Long Beach Airport. JetBlue partnered with Long Beach Airport, KLOS-FM and Warner Bros. for this special customer experience. Fans enjoyed a personal, intimate acoustic 30-minute performance of the rock band's classics.
Night Ranger performed with JetBlue's runways and Los Angeles County as its backdrop. Additionally, fans paid homage to the '80s by showing up clad in their finest threads from the era. JetBlue representatives were on hand with great prizes such as travel certificates for the first 80 fans that showed up in '80s gear and a vacation package for the most original costume.

"JetBlue is already a musically inclined airline, so we are excited to present this unique salute to the '80s to our customers" said Jace Hieda, regional marketing manager, JetBlue. "Long Beach Airport is known for its accessibility and we were delighted to bring Night Ranger to the airport and provide a one-of-a kind offering to our customers and the Long Beach community."
"Long Beach Airport is the perfect backdrop for a live concert of this kind. Our plan to modernize the airport and at the same time retain and renovate our historical terminal follows the same theme and nostalgia of yesterday's event," noted Airport Director Mario Rodriguez.
Night Ranger's albums have sold over 17 million copies worldwide. Celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year, the band has performed 2,500 shows throughout their career and over one billion listeners have heard NIGHT RANGER on the radio in the U.S. alone. The band is fresh off their 'Somewhere In California' release and world tour with Journey and Foreigner and is scheduled to release a Live Acoustic CD/DVD filled with their greatest hits in September 2012. Perhaps best known for the power ballad "Sister Christian" from their album Midnight Madness, which peaked on the charts at #5 in June 1984, the song is featured in the New Line Cinema's new musical film 'Rock of Ages.' Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, the movie is being released in theaters today, June 15, 2012. The song is featured in the film adaptation and appears on the film's soundtrack.
