Jersey Sports Zone Makes Strong Impact On High School Sports Scene: Online Numbers Exceed Expectation
TRENTON, N.J., Aug. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Before its first birthday, Jersey Sports Zone's (JSZ) statewide video coverage of boys and girls high school sports is hitting milestones. Only 10 months after launch, the online company passed the 10 million mark in Twitter impressions and 2.5 million YouTube/Facebook video views of varsity game highlights, features on players and coaches, and the latest college recruiting news.
Jersey Sports Zone's social media followers also have doubled in the first year. In response to demand, the company recently added two additional multi-media journalists, Jay Cook and Jon Rubenstein, and launched an updated website in August.
"The demand for coverage of high school games and player features continues to grow," said Rich Chrampanis, COO of Jersey Sports Zone. "Our state is packed with great teams, exciting games, and talented athletes which makes it easier for us to capture those exciting moments – as well as produce touching feature stories that resonate with our audience."
JSZ is supported by local and regional sponsors, a few include Princeton Orthopaedic Associates, Equinox, NJ Devils, NJM Insurance and BCB Bayshore Bank.
"It's exciting to be involved in an interactive media outlet that's growing," added Chrampanis, a former sportscaster who's watched network and local news coverage of high school athletes diminish over the years. "Now, when I appear at a game with my camera, people post on social media, 'JSZ in the house!' and may approach me with excitement about their favorite team or player, in hopes they'll be highlighted on our site that evening."
