Jenny Craig Kicks Off Summer in the Big Apple With "Jenny's Party in the Plaza"
Celebrity Clients Valerie Bertinelli, Sara Rue, Nicole Sullivan and Ross Mathews showed attendees how to get fit and eat healthy for summer

NEW YORK, June 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Jenny Craig, Inc., one of the nation's leading authorities on weight management, took over Josie Robertson Plaza at the Lincoln Center today to kick off the summer season with "Jenny's Party in the Plaza." The free outdoor cookout was open to the public, and focused on health and wellness and how to enjoy the summer season while staying in shape.
Television stars and Jenny Craig spokespeople Valerie Bertinelli, Sara Rue, Nicole Sullivan and Ross Mathews were key players at the event and joined in on all of the festivities. Talented and talkative TV personality Ross Mathews MC'ed a head-to-head Recipe Challenge with Valerie, Sara and Nicole, who competed against each other to create healthy and creative summer recipes of their own. Attendees got to taste each of the creations, and then enthusiastically voted, by way of cheer and applause, on which celebrity-presented recipe they liked best. Valerie ultimately won the best dish with her Chipotle Cheeseburgers, and was awarded a bedazzled chef hat as a prize for her innovative healthy cooking skills. "Wow, thank you! But really, I think we all deserve this prize," said Valerie as she hugged Nicole and Sara in close.

Attendees mixed and mingled around the plaza, learning fitness tips, getting their BMI measured, and picking up healthy eating tricks from Jenny Craig Consultants. They visited Jenny's farmer's market and filled their bags with free fresh fruit and produce, and left the feeling confident going into the summer with a bevy of Jenny-friendly snacks and recipes on hand.
