Jeffrey N. Leibell Joins Leading Class-Action Settlement Claims Management Firm FRS as General Counsel
Mr. Leibell brings 35 years of experience in management, class action settlement administration, class action law, accounting and auditing to FRS's growing organization.
SOUTH HACKENSACK, N.J., July 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Financial Recovery Strategies (FRS), a recognized leader in class action settlement claims recovery, is proud to announce that Jeffrey Leibell has become its General Counsel. Mr. Leibell succeeds FRS co-founder, Glenn Guior, to become FRS's second General Counsel; Mr. Guior, now FRS's Chief Legal Officer, will now devote more time to business development endeavors. As General Counsel, Mr. Leibell is responsible for handling FRS's legal matters and managing its Legal Department. He also will lend his vast background in class actions and their administration, and, in particular, his expertise in class action settlements, to FRS's class action settlement recovery operations.

Leibell joins FRS with 35 years of experience in class action settlement administration, class action law, accounting and auditing. As Vice President, Class Action Services at The Garden City Group, Inc. (GCG), one of the nation's leading class action settlement administrators, he advised executive management and class counsel on, and provided to courts testimony and reports concerning, a variety of class action settlement administration matters. Jeff provided advice and testimony on such matters as the efficacy of class notification programs, the implementation of plans of allocation, the integrity of claims processing and the design of distribution plans. He also developed and presented to lawyers across the U.S. continuing legal education programs on class action settlements, claims administration and plan of allocation design. Prior to joining GCG, Jeff spent twelve years at Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossmann LLP (BLB&G), a leading class action prosecution firm, where he was responsible for recovering billions of dollars for class members. And as the BLB&G partner responsible for negotiating the terms of and effecting over $13.5 billion in class action recoveries, Jeff became a leading authority on settlement-related legal issues. Before attending law school, he was a senior manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he audited "Fortune 500" and other companies, and managed forensic accounting and litigation support engagements. A Certified Public Accountant, Jeff received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a staff member and the Senior Notes Editor of the Columbia Business Law Review and twice was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and his B.S., cum laude, in Accounting from Brooklyn College.
