TOKYO, and AUSTIN, Texas, March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- JCB International Co., Ltd. ("JCBI"), the international operations subsidiary of JCB, and Rev Worldwide ("Rev"), a global payments processing and product innovations company, have announced plans to jointly develop prepaid products in key JCB markets around the world.
The relationship seeks to grow prepaid market opportunities leveraging Rev's proprietary global processing platform, prepaid product set, program management services and multi-currency platform innovations, along with JCBI's card issuing, merchant acceptance network, and corporate partnerships.
With this announcement, the parties are moving forward to make available a robust product menu for issuing banks and other partners interested in next-generation prepaid solutions.
Kimihisa Imada, Deputy President of JCBI commented, "I am delighted to welcome Rev as our partner. The demand for prepaid cards has been growing in general, and multi-currency prepaid products in particular are becoming popular for those who want to depend less on credit and frequently travel overseas, as this eliminates the need to exchange currencies in each country they visit. I am confident that leveraging the Rev platform and product set will allow our issuing partners to launch JCB prepaid products more efficiently and effectively. We are committed to providing quality, efficient and secure cross-border payment services to our partners, and providing convenient and localized service to the increasing JCB card members."
JCB is one of the largest international payment brands in the world, with 87 million cards issued, and with card acceptance in over 190 countries and regions, and growing. JCBI aims to accelerate JCB's overseas expansion. Today, JCBI has issued cards in 17 countries and regions, and has partnered with more than 350 domestic and foreign banks.
"By partnering with JCBI, one of the top payment network brands in the world and a company recognized for unparalleled service quality, we continue to deliver on the market need for prepaid products with the high caliber and value our solutions provide to partners," said John Mitchell, Chief Executive Officer, Rev.
Rev's proprietary processing platform is currently utilized across the world, responsible for various firsts in the global prepaid industry, and has integrated services that have pushed the travel, mobile and general-purpose reloadable segments forward. Beyond its global payments processing capabilities, the company provides key program management services and overall strategic support to partners, allowing them a faster time to market with more flexibility, from product design to implementation and growth.
