Jason Priestley, Jean-Claude Van Damme, William Shatner, Idris Elba and Missy Peregrym to Headline at MIPTV 2010
PARIS, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Some of the biggest names from the large and small screen will be gracing the Croisette with their presence during MIPTV, which runs in Cannes from 12-16 April.

A hero of the sci-fi world since his role as Star Trek's Captain Kirk, William Shatner will be in attendance at MIPTV to promote Weird or What?, the new series from Cineflix.
Also expected on the Croisette, Jean-Claude Van Damme will be at MIPTV to support the launch of a factual series (8 episodes x 45') produced by Rodin Entertainment and Ah! Production. The series will retrace the actors' martial arts career several months before his fight in November 2010, in Las Vegas.
Idris Elba, famous for his role as Stringer Bell in The Wire and for his starring roles in films such as American Gangster, RocknRolla and Obsessed, will be in Cannes to launch the new BBC drama Luther. A psychological thriller with Idris Elba starring as John Luther -- a 'near genius murder detective,' the crime drama was filmed in London and is due to broadcast on BBC One this spring. Luther is a BBC Production distributed by BBC Worldwide.
Set to host the fifth International Digital Emmy® Awards at MIPTV on Monday 12 April, Jason Priestley, best known for his role as Brandon Walsh on the hit series Beverly Hills 90210, will also be presenting Call Me Fitz, a new series in which he not only stars, but also produces and directs.
Canadian actors Missy Peregrym, who stars as Candice Wilmer in Heroes, and Gregory Smith who plays Ephram Brown in Everwood will also be in Cannes to promote the series Rookie Blue, produced by E1 Entertainment. The pair will be joining Priestley as celebrity presenters of the International Digital Emmy® Awards along with British actor Charles Dance.
Dance will be accompanied by author Terry Pratchett who penned the celebrated "Discworld" novels and who will be at MIPTV to announce the screen adaptation of the third volume in the series, in which Dance will star.
The iconic star of The Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan will also feature at the International Digital Emmy® Awards. The internationally-renowned canine behavioural expert is currently shooting the sixth series of his hit show for the US channel National Geographic.
