Jamba Juice Brings Food, Fun, and Fitness to 2010 Women's Conference
Company Highlights Relationship with WNBA During Main Event, Tips off Executive Development Program, and Invites 30,000 Attendees to Eat, Sip, and Be Fit
EMERYVILLE, Calif., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Jamba Juice (Nasdaq: JMBA), a highly recognized healthy, active lifestyle brand with a platform of over 30 custom blended smoothies and delicious, better-for-you menu offerings, announced today its sponsorship of the 2010 Women's Conference. Jamba Juice will participate in a number of activities during this three-day, transformational event— including smoothie giveaways, a sponsored lunch, and a morning warm-up with the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) to showcase both companies' commitment to promoting fitness and healthy nutrition.
The Women's Conference® 2010, hosted by California First Lady Maria Shriver and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, is the nation's premier forum for women, empowering them to be Architects of Change ® in their own lives, their communities, and the world. More than 140 extraordinary speakers come together with 30,000 women to be educated, inspired, and empowered. On Sunday, Oct. 24, Jamba Juice will help kick off the event by providing its All Fruit smoothies to participants in Maria Shriver's March on Alzheimer's event.
During the annual Day of Health, Wellness and Transformation on Monday, Oct. 25, Jamba Juice will get attendees started the right way with a smoothie welcome featuring its All Fruit smoothies. As the official food sponsor, Jamba will also host the day's lunch, serving its tasty, better-for-you, grab-n-go food items—all made with no artificial flavors, no artificial preservatives, and no high-fructose corn syrup— to its 3,500 attendees. Jamba Juice celebrity trainer Valerie Waters will lead attendees through some fit tip exercises after lunch, getting them mentally and physically ready for the remainder of the day.
Jamba Juice will tip off the main event on Tuesday, Oct. 26 by providing nearly 15,000 attendees an early morning boost with its Five Fruit Frenzy Smoothies. In partnership with WNBA Cares, Jamba Juice will also provide Sip to Support fundraising Swipe Cards (benefitting the California PTA), to be used at Jamba Juice locations. WNBA President Donna Orender, WNBA Washington Mystics star Alana Beard, WNBA Phoenix Mercury star Tangela Smith, a local double-dutch girls jump rope team and a female break-dancing crew will join Jamba Juice on the main stage, stressing the importance of creating a healthy, active lifestyle and getting attendees pumped up and ready for the day's event. Following the Women's Conference, Beard and Smith will take center stage at the Jamba Juice Support Center, becoming the first members of its Executive Development Program, an in-house management internship where the pair will work with the Jamba Juice corporate team, learning critical strategic, operational and management skills, which will help them become successful businesswomen when they officially hang up their jerseys.
"The Women's Conference is an inspiring, transformational event and we are beyond thrilled to be involved for the second year in a row," said James D. White, chairman, president, and CEO, Jamba Juice Company. "In addition to providing our better-for-you food and smoothies to attendees, our alignment with the WNBA is the perfect fit for this event—showcasing our commitment to making healthy, easy and fun. And beyond the Women's Conference, we know that the women of the WNBA will bring their A-game off the court and into the boardroom for our Executive Development Program. At Jamba, we understand that elite talent is what makes a good company great, and that finely honed skills are of tremendous value in growing a successful company. These are attributes that the women of the WNBA bring to their teams, their communities, and now to Jamba Juice."
"The WNBA is very proud to be aligned with a progressive, creative and successful brand like Jamba Juice that shares the commitment to promoting healthy living for women and young people," said WNBA President Donna Orender. "The league features educated, talented and motivated women who know how to compete and win and it is exactly these skills that translate so well from the basketball court to the conference room. We are very excited to be taking part in both The Women's Conference and Jamba Juice's Executive Development Program, two forums that empower and celebrate women."
