Tetra Pak Celebrates the Juice Box with Anniversary Music Video Contest
VERNON HILLS, Ill. Nov. 18, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The iconic juice box turned 30 this year and families from all across the U.S. and Canada joined in a unique online celebration that included a lip syncing music video contest of a specially commissioned song by family-friendly music group the Juice Box Heroes.
David Gardner a 26-year-old news video editor from Orange Park, FL was named grand prize winner for his video, "Juice Box Birthday Bash," which featured a unique claymation depiction of life inside the refrigerator for a band of jamming juice boxes.
"I wanted to do something different, something that would stand out," said David of his submission. "A lot of people may not have the patience for clay animation but they find it captivating, so there is an awe factor to the video." David will receive a $2,500 cash prize and a year's supply of juice boxes from Hansen's® Junior Juice.
1st runner up Jazminn Diaz, 20, of Riverside, California was also recognized for her video, which included live action sequences of her extended family celebrating the juice box, presented in an interactive scrapbook style. Jazminn's submission won her $1,000 and a six month supply of juice boxes from Hansen's® Junior Juice.
2nd runner up Zachary Cullen, a 20-year-old television, radio and film student at Syracuse University, took honors as well for his video featuring him and a friend dressed as life-size lip-syncing juice boxes. Zachary will receive $500 and a month's supply of juice boxes from Hansen's® Junior Juice.
The three-month long celebration, developed by leading carton packaging manufacturer Tetra Pak, the company which first introduced juice boxes to North America 30 years ago, showcased how the kid-friendly juice box meets the lifestyle needs of today's families because of its convenience and protection benefits. Beverages in cartons from Tetra Pak don't require added preservatives or refrigeration.
"We're delighted that thousands of people, including our contest winners, joined us online to celebrate the juice box and to acknowledge the iconic juice box package moms know and trust," said Carla Fantoni, vice president of communications for Tetra Pak U.S. & Canada.
Considered one of the top packaging innovations in history, juice boxes protect and preserve juice without the need for added preservatives or refrigeration due to its revolutionary technology. This retains the taste and quality of the beverage without the need for refrigeration for up to 12 months and allows families to purchase multiple units at once for pantry storage. Juice boxes from Tetra Pak are also made mainly from paper, a renewable resource that is continually replenished for future generations, and are recyclable (visit www.recyclecartons.com for more information on carton recycling).
All "Celebrate the Juice Box" video submissions will be showcased on www.juiceboxbirthday.com and can be viewed throughout the month of November.
