It "Ain't" Christmas But Who's Complaining As Detroit Youngsters Receive Free Bicycles Courtesy Of Greater Grace Temple
The church's free bike giveaway creates big smiles on the faces of children from struggling families
DETROIT, Nov. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Christmas is more than a month away, but youngsters at Greater Grace Temple would tell you it happens on Nov. 9th! That's when the church will give away 100 FREE bicycles to children from financially strapped families. No Christmas tree, no Santa but who's complaining. Big smiles will be everywhere. It all happens Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014 at 12:45 p.m. (Families receiving the bikes have already been pre-selected.)
"For many people, one of their fondest childhood memories was receiving a brand new bicycle," says Greater Grace Temple's Senior Pastor Bishop Charles H. Ellis III. "We want to do something to help those families that have been hit hard by this economy." GGT and The Master's Commission have given out over 2,500 free bikes since the giveaway started in 2004.
Greater Grace Temple is located at 23500 W. Seven Mile Road in Detroit, MI. The Master's Commission is a non-profit arm of Greater Grace Temple. Formed in 1999, The Master's Commission has since become a liaison between the corporate sector and the urban community: guiding corporations in their placement of charitable giving and providing programming that benefits the less fortunate.
ABOUT GREATER GRACE TEMPLE
