International SOS Caps 30th Year of Pioneering in Risk Management with Appointment as Preferred Medical Partner at 2015 FORTUNE Global Forum
Premier Forum Marks Fifth Consecutive Selection of International SOS as Preferred Medical Provider to World's Business Leaders
TREVOSE, Pa., Oct. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- International SOS will serve as the preferred medical partner to the 2015 FORTUNE Global Forum in San Francisco Nov. 2-4, highlighting 30 years of operating in the risk management industry. Hosted by FORTUNE magazine, the bi-annual event convenes CEOs of the world's largest companies as well as innovators, builders, and technologists from emerging companies.
This is the fifth consecutive Global Forum where International SOS was selected to support the health and well-being of attendees. International SOS will have staff on-site in San Francisco to handle any medical coordination that is necessary for the expected 500 attendees.
"International meetings and conventions attract attendees from across the globe. An effective business continuity plan requires corporate meeting planners to proactively assess and mitigate risks for each attendee," said Grant Jeffery, CEO, Americas, International SOS. "We have supported FORTUNE Global Forums around the world – from Chengdu, China to Cape Town and now in San Francisco. The success of these events is attributed to the quality of the program, the caliber of attendees, and the careful planning for services needed to assist the needs of an international gathering."
In advance of the Global Forum, International SOS developed a medical emergency response plan for the event, enabling on and off-site staff to react promptly and effectively to medical emergencies that might occur. It will also manage 24/7 medical logistical support at the event site for all domestic and international participants via a dedicated hotline. Through MedAire, an International SOS company, participants will have access to aviation expertise including pre-travel advice and in-flight medical assistance when traveling to and from the Global Forum. About one-third of the participants will travel to San Francisco from locations abroad. For more serious situations, International SOS can arrange for emergency, evacuation and repatriation services on a case by case basis.
Over the past 30 years, International SOS has evolved to meet the needs of global businesses and global business travelers. It has pioneered numerous innovations to keep travelers safe, including TravelTracker, a mobile Assistance App that helps companies and organizations act immediately during a critical event by identifying travelers at risk and facilitating communications with them through an integrated email and optional SMS system.
"We look back with pride at the past 30 years. Our services have enabled organizations to further their business interests, while mitigating risks to their people. With a focus on prevention, we have defined and pioneered the medical and travel security services industry," said Arnaud Vaissié, Co-founder, Chairman and CEO, International SOS. "We look forward to the future and continuing to support the global organization and its people."
