The Staffordshire-based Branston Golf and Country Club has always been recognised as one of the top golf clubs in the Midlands with a picturesque 18-hole course and stunning views over the River Trent. Today the club offers so much more: a health and fitness centre, clubhouse and bar, restaurant, salon and spa, retail outlet, catering for events, meetings, weddings and more.
IBS from NFS is club management software that enables clubs to retain existing members, while attracting new ones, providing total integration across the whole club to bring together every aspect of the business seamlessly in one user-friendly and intuitive solution.
"As the business grew, we found ourselves struggling to work with the six systems we previously needed to run all its aspects," says Clive Smith at Branston. "We were already using two NFS products - Aloha restaurant point of sale software and Rendezvous Events for our meeting scheduling needs."
"After nearly three years of investigation, during which we looked at the products of six companies, we chose NFS again for the ability to bring every aspect of the business together in one total solution. Now, with IBS, we have a single point of contact for management information, integration with our accounting system and a common view of our members' spend."
The integrated solution that allows the club to track profile and spend pattern was a key element in the decision to choose IBS. With an overview of all members, club staff can now easily see who the biggest spenders are in the facility, to understand members' individual spend on golf, events, food and beverage, retail, etc. It puts the club in a much better position to understand what members' interests are and to design and implement programmes that will attract and retain them, whilst encouraging and rewarding them.
About to be introduced is a dedicated members' card that gives members a discount at the bar. Whilst giving referential pricing to members, it will also recognise the spend patterns of outside visitors as well.
"We received great support from NFS when the company was providing only a part of the technology needed to run our business," says Clive. "As the club has grown, it has become increasingly important to have an integrated solution which provides us with single point of contact and a single view of patterns of consumption and spend of our members."
"We are confident that IBS from NFS will give us just that."
