ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Intacct customers have already gained significant productivity benefits from automating financial processes using Intacct's cloud financial management and accounting software. Following the launch of Intacct Collaborate, a new collaboration backbone built directly into the Intacct financial system, these companies can now empower Finance, Sales, and Services employees to work collaboratively to keep processes efficient despite snags due to exceptions, ambiguous information, or changing policies.
Intacct Collaborate embeds Salesforce Chatter, the leading enterprise social network, into Intacct to create a secure social layer across all finance processes and across devices through the Salesforce1 Mobile App. Instead of spawning separate and external email threads to resolve process issues, employees can now conduct conversations right inside Intacct's cloud financial management application, directly on specific records such as customers, projects, invoices, purchase requisitions, journal entries, and more.
For companies leveraging Intacct's tight integration with Salesforce Sales Cloud, these conversations appear simultaneously in both systems. This enables Sales to collaborate from the system they spend the most time in, while Finance has access to the conversations from the accounting system of record they work in.
"Intacct Collaborate builds on our ten year relationship with Salesforce.com to deliver a better way for companies to streamline communications and speed work execution," said Aaron Harris, CTO and VP of Engineering, Intacct. "We are constantly looking at innovative ways to make our customers more efficient and productive. The addition of Salesforce Chatter inside Intacct will facilitate greater collaboration, expedite decision making, and ultimately accelerate business processes – making companies more competitive."
Speeding Execution for Customers
Launched at Dreamforce 2014 in October, Intacct Collaborate is already impressing early adopters. Canto, a leading provider of digital asset management solutions, was one of the first companies to roll out Intacct Collaborate to its employees. Canto CFO, Hans Schaedel, is pleased with the results: "Collaboration is an everyday activity for finance, whether it's working with Sales to resolve invoicing issues, clarifying and adjusting order policies, or reviewing transactions within the accounting team. As a multi-national organization, Intacct Collaborate is helping Canto accelerate decision-making, deliver better customer service, and move faster as an organization."
Another early adopter was AWS Truepower, a leader in renewable energy consulting. As a services-based business, AWS Truepower manages multiple projects at the same time, which requires significant coordination between and within teams. Sophy Lai, CFO at AWS Truepower, commented: "Keeping projects moving smoothly can be a real juggling act – from staffing a project with the right resources, to keeping clients and staff on the same page, to maintaining the records of a project over time. We expect that Intacct Collaborate will help us execute more efficiently and maximize our project performance."
Nonprofit organizations are another segment seeing the value of Intacct Collaborate. The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) supports and represents nearly 300,000 students attending its 47 member-schools that include publicly supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities, medical schools, and law schools. TMCF's director of finance, Nias White, sees Intacct Collaborate as a powerful new tool to streamline communication between staff members.
"Intacct Collaborate will streamline communication between our fundraising team and our finance team, and make our processes run smoother," added White. "For example, when a donation requires reclassification, we can educate the fundraising team on the proper use of codes as we make corrections. It will also take the pain out of back-office processes, as finance team members can leave @messages for each other, and click directly into the transaction that needs attention."
Intacct Collaborate is part of Intacct's core financial management system and is free for all Intacct customers, including those that don't currently use Salesforce applications.
