About the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)
The Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly, Medicare's national program, also known as PACE, helps qualified seniors, and age 55 and older who are living with disabilities, to live as independently as possible rather than in nursing centers. PACE organizations provide and coordinate healthcare, in-home care and a variety of support services to help aging individuals continue to live in their communities. The program also offers caregivers a respite from the often strenuous demands of caregiving.
Medicaid or Medicare beneficiaries who have a share of cost remain responsible for their individual share of cost. Participants without Medicaid or Medicare pay a monthly premium to cover long term care and a premium for Medicare Part D drugs. PACE organizations are regulated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
