inMarket Uses Industry-Leading Location Data to Rank U.S. Restaurants by Customer Loyalty
Cincinnati's Skyline Chili has the Most Loyal Patrons; While Low-Loyalty Chains Navigate Closures and Bankruptcy
VENICE, Calif., June 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- inMarket -- the leader in digital advertising for the physical world -- has released its Spring 2017 Loyalty Report for Restaurants as part of its comprehensive and ongoing inMarket inSights program. The report ranks full-service restaurants (FSRs) and quick-service restaurants (QSRs) based on customer loyalty as determined by repeat mobile device visitation, and is available today at www.inmarket.com/insights.
This is the second report in a series covering loyalty at various brick and mortar verticals, using mobile location data from over 50 million anonymous consumers to reveal foot traffic patterns. The first report, covering retail, identified a clear correlation between low customer loyalty and store closures so far in 2017.
inMarket uses machine learning to analyze billions of data points per month, painting a picture of consumer behavior and its influence on real-world businesses. Each business is assigned a Loyalty Score, which is determined by total visits divided by unique device visitation. For example, a restaurant with 1,000,000 visits from 500,000 devices would have a Loyalty Score of 2. The average Loyalty Score for all FSRs in Spring 2017 was 1.4, while the average for QSRs was 1.55.
According to inMarket location data, Cincinnati-based Skyline Chili has the most loyal patrons in the U.S. in 2017 -- attracting repeat customers 27 percent more frequently than average. Perhaps it's an Ohio thing: Fellow Cincinnati restaurant chain Frisch's Big Boy ranks third on the FSR loyalty list. In addition to predicting market trends, inMarket uses location data to power its suite of industry-leading ad products that connect offline businesses with their customers via digital/mobile channels in-store and along the path to purchase. inBar, which launched in January 2017, is the company's nightlife-specific solution that predicts when restaurant/bar/venue visits will occur and connects brands with consumers in those places in real time.
inMarket, a 7-year-old bootstrapped company, has experienced 100% YOY growth in 2017, expanding rapidly across its offices in Venice Beach, CA, Chicago, New York City and Bentonville, AR. inMarket has also augmented its management team in 2017 with the addition of Cameron V. Peebles (formerly of Airpush) as its first CMO and Chris Kozloski (formerly of MaxPoint) as its first CRO.
