Indiana Regional MLS Completes Consolidation of 13 MLS Systems Into Single Source of Real Estate Data

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Together, the Indiana Regional Multiple Listing Service (IRMLS) and the MLS Solutions division of Black Knight Financial Services announced today the completion of the Paragon® MLS rollout to all 13 of IRMLS' founding member boards. The transition is the result of an extensive two-year effort to implement a regional MLS platform that makes it easier and less expensive for IRMLS members — brokers, agents and appraisers — to conduct business and realize greater revenue. With the Paragon MLS platform, IRMLS is helping ensure that all of its nearly 6,000 members can benefit from the cost savings associated with bulk technology purchase agreements, while being able to collaborate and share information and services across the state.
"The formation of the IRMLS itself was really an unprecedented effort," explained Carrie Kendall, general manager of IRMLS. "We brought together 13 unique associations and MLSs from across the entire state and formed a single board of directors that would make decisions collectively while still serving the best interests of the membership of each of our individual founder boards. Of course, to make this work, we needed to have a unified technology platform that would not only allow our members to collaborate and share MLS data and services, but to also realize the substantial cost savings that would come from using one system with one vendor contract and leveraging the power of bulk purchasing."
According to Kendall, IRMLS representatives performed significant due diligence in their search for the one MLS platform that would make the most sense for the organization's membership. After an evaluation of all MLS service providers used by the founding member boards, Black Knight's Paragon was chosen based upon its ease of use, speed, multitasking options and mobile experience. After creating a common database and input forms in Paragon, data conversion, training and implementation began in phases across each of the 13 member boards beginning in early 2013. As of August, the process has been completed, and the entirety of IRMLS is sharing a common Paragon platform and database.
