DES MOINES, Iowa, Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- New research from ARAG® highlights seven communications success factors employers can use to increase job satisfaction and voluntary benefits participation. According to case study research, about four out of five employees (79 percent) agree that a well-communicated benefits program would make them less likely to leave their jobs.1
"Voluntary benefits can reduce employee turnover, enhance recruiting efforts and minimize the impact if employers are forced to reduce core benefit offerings," says Erin Barfels, Chief Human Resources Officer at ARAG, a leader in legal insurance. "However, achieving these advantages requires a smart communications plan."
The report offers seven core success factors HR personnel and benefits administrators can use to communicate more effectively, increase enrollment and boost participation during benefits enrollment. The first success factor is "Personalize it." Nearly 90 percent of employees say they want benefits communications tailored to their personal situations. 2 For example, specific benefits can be recommended based on an employee's age, income, gender and family status.
