In an Unprecedented Decision, Red Hook Black - a Luis Landivar Film - a Land Varied International Production - Publicly Releases Movie Footage While Still in Theaters
NEW YORK, Dec. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Land Varied International, an independent production company founded by Luis Landivar and several private investors, in an unprecedented decision has released exclusively on IMDB three RHB scenes while the movie is still in theaters.
"By taking this unprecedented step and releasing actual footage from the movie on IMDB, we hope to reach out to those talented artists and investors in the movie industry who want to take a chance on collaborating with us in the future and to honor the cast and crew who believed in our motion picture and made it a reality," said Luis Landivar, writer/director of Red Hook Black.
Jeannette Catsoulis of The New York Times wrote that the Red Hook locations were "lovingly photographed" [Valentina Caniglia, DP] and that a "knowing" Lozeau and a "sultry" Cristina Rodlo gave "the film's best performances."
Jr. Schutt Costa of Brazilian Press praised Red Hook Black as "honest and consistent in investigating urban concerns."
Landivar continues: "Having studied under Leonard Quart, I developed a love for the Italian Cinema and an awareness of the greatness of the British Independent Cinema; I love film criticism and filmic analysis. I value every word movie critics write and say because every review is a chance to grow as an artist. Every moment we are fortunate enough to work in the movie industry is an opportunity to create or capture something grand, real and true."
The 3 RHB movie scenes exclusively on IMDB:
Scene 1 - Marco (Kyle Fields) discusses the past with Olivia (Danielle Lozeau), his niece.
Scene 2 - A typical night in Brooklyn with longshoreman, Marco (Kyle Fields) and his MS afflicted wife, Elizabeth (Victoria Negri) and divorced IT manager, Damian (James Jackson) falls in love with Eva (Cristina Rodlo).
Scene 3 - Unbeknownst to Damian (James Jackson), his unreliable brother Melvin (Keith Walker) wants to party with (Maria Aparo) in Damian's flat.
Music by Michael Bianco
A slice of life in the new normal economy, RED HOOK BLACK harkens back to a simpler time where good and bad, right and wrong were easily discerned and where family still meant something special. See the movie at Quad Cinema located in the heart of Greenwich Village, New York.
