Illinois Firearm Rights PACs Announce Endorsements for November General Election
CHICAGO, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released jointly today by the ISRA Political Victory Fund (ISRA-PVF) and the ISRA Fed PAC:
The ISRA-PVF and the ISRA Fed PAC are happy to announce their candidate endorsements and candidate preferences for the November general elections. The candidate endorsements and preferences come after careful deliberation by the boards of the respective organizations.
The ISRA-PVF has endorsed the team of Bill Brady and Jason Plummer for Governor/Lt. Governor. Senator Brady is a long time supporter of Illinois hunters, sportsmen and lawful firearm owners. We are certain that, as Governor, Bill Brady will spearhead efforts to restore Illinois' outdoor sporting heritage and protect law-abiding firearm owners from extremist efforts to infringe upon their constitutional rights.
In the races for constitutional officers, the ISRA-PVF has endorsed Dan Rutherford for Treasurer and Judy Baar Topinka for Comptroller. In the race for Attorney General, the ISRA-PVF prefers candidate Steve Kim and, in the race for Secretary of State, Robert Enriquez is the ISRA-PVF preferred candidate.
In key Illinois Senate races, the ISRA-PVF has made the following endorsements: Steve Rauschenberger for the 22nd District; Chris Lauzen for the 25th District; John Milner for the 29th District; A.J. Wilhelmi for the 43rd District; Kyle McCarter for the 51st District; and Michael Frerichs for the 52nd District.
In key Illinois House races, the ISRA-PVF has made the following endorsements: Michael Connelly for the 48th District; Randy Ramey for the 55th District; Careen Gordon for the 75th District; Renee Kozel for the 81st District; Bob Flider for the 101st District; and Dan Reitz for the 116th District.
In key races for U.S. House of Representatives, the ISRA Fed PAC has named Joe Walsh as the preferred candidate for the 8th District seat. In the race for the 17th U.S. House District, the ISRA Fed PAC has named Bobby Schilling as the preferred candidate. Endorsed candidates for U.S. House include Debbie Halverson for the 11th District and Randy Hultgren for the 14th District.
The board of the ISRA Fed PAC finds it unfortunate that neither of the major political parties could field a suitable candidate for U.S. Senate. Democrat candidate Alexi Giannoulias is an entrenched member of the Daley/Obama Chicago Machine who has shown no indication that he is sensitive to the issues facing law-abiding hunters and sportsmen. Republican candidate Mark Kirk has a long standing history of open hostility towards lawful firearm owners. Kirk's most recent legislative attacks on firearm owners includes sponsorship of a federal law to ban semiautomatic rifles, pistols and shotguns and co-sponsorship of a federal law that would run small firearm retailers out of business. Therefore, the ISRA Fed PAC is advising firearm owners to consider the candidate offerings of either the Libertarian Party or the Constitution Party.
