Ideum's New Platform 46 Multitouch Tables Feature 46" 3M Displays
CORRALES, N.M., June 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ideum announces the release of two next generation Platform multitouch tables: the Platform 46 full-sized table and the Platform 46 coffee table - their first coffee table configuration. Both of these new touch tables integrate the high-performance 3M™ Multi-Touch Display C4667PW with support for 60 touch points. These innovative touch tables will debut next week at InfoComm 2013 in 3M's booth (#4873).

The Platform 46 tables combine Ideum's design and build-quality with 3M projected capacitive touch technology to present rugged turnkey multitouch tables. Each model has a bezel-free, full HD 1080p LCD display, with ultra-fast 12ms touch response time for fluid multitouch interaction. Unlike other multitouch tables, the Platform 46 tables are completely impervious to light interference; the projected capacitive multitouch technology works in any lighting setting. The tables use the same kind of touch technology that is found in popular tablets and smartphones.
Both multitouch tables start with the push of a button. The integrated computer for the Platform 46 full-sized table is a powerful desktop Intel i7 3.1GHz Hyper-threaded Quad Core Processor with 8GB of RAM and a 500GB Hard Drive. Upgrade options include boosting the system to 16GB of RAM, swapping the HDD for a 512 SSD, and adding a dedicated GPU. The coffee table comes with a powerful, small form-factor i7 system, which includes a Blu-ray player. It can also be purchased without a computer.
"The Ideum Platform 46 table is exactly the type of product we envisioned in designing and building the C4667PW chassis display", says Diego Romeu, global business unit manager, 3M Electronic Solutions Division. "Their design emphasizes all the strengths of the 3M multitouch display offering, such as bezel-less flat front surface, rugged industrial design, and high-performance multitouch interactivity."
The Platform 46 tables have exceptional build-quality and are perfect for public spaces and other tough environments. Like Ideum's other multitouch products, the Platform 46 tables can be used in museums, schools, research labs, offices, retail, trade shows, or even at home. The Platform 46 displays have chemically strengthened glass tops and the pedestals are constructed with aircraft grade aluminum.
The Platform 46 tables come complete with WiDi, Ethernet, WIFI (Wireless N) and Bluetooth connectivity. They also include USB, DVI, VGA, HDMI, and DP access ports. The full-sized Platform 46 can be purchased with optional RFID or a Worldwide 3G module. The Platform 46 tables have WiDi and, with an optional WiDi receiver, allow owners to expand their desktop to any HDMI compatible display. Coffee table owners can select movies from NetFlix and other streaming services or play Blu-ray movies and display them on their TV via WiDi.
The Platform 46 tables ship with Windows 8 Professional 64-bit. Each table comes with a lifetime Pro License for Gestureworks Core (C++, C# .NET, Javascript/HTML5, Java, and Python) and Gestureworks Flash (ActionScript). The tables also include GestureKey, a first-of-its-kind Windows 8 utility that brings customizable multitouch gestures to legacy Windows applications.
