ICAP Ocean Tomo Offers for Sale Real-Time Bandwidth Optimization, Mobile Call Routing, and Client Server Binding Technology

CHICAGO, June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- ICAP Ocean Tomo, the intellectual property brokerage division of ICAP plc (IAP.L), is offering for sale three distinct patent portfolios from Geos Communications IP Holdings, Inc. The portfolios describe real-time bandwidth optimization and mobile call routing in the field of Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP), and client server binding technology. Together the portfolios represent three US-issued patents, two non-US patents, and two US patent applications.

Technology of two of the portfolios, real-time bandwidth optimization and mobile call routing, relate to VoIP. The real-time bandwidth optimization system provides a means for adapting the bandwidth requirement of a real-time voice communication to the available bandwidth of the underlying VoIP network through the use of a real-time bandwidth monitor (RTBM). The RTBM constantly monitors end-to-end available bandwidth so the transmission of a voice communication can occur at a transmission rate providing the best service. The assets of the mobile call routing portfolio allow wireless users to make long distance calls via the Internet.

The technology of the client server binding portfolio provides systems and methods for maintaining the binding of a client, particularly a client with limited computational and storage resources, with at least one server.
