How Many Companies do you Need to Manage Over One Hundred Business Expenses?
LONDON, June 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
- Answer: With Auditel, you only need one!
According to Deloitte's third biennial cost survey 2013, 76% of respondents expect their company to reduce costs over the next 24 months. However, they also found that the failure rate for cost initiatives climbed to 48%. This means that nearly half failed to achieve their goals.
Chris Allison, Managing Director of Auditel, the UK and Ireland's leading cost management consultancy, explains, "Keeping over one hundred business expenses under control is not that simple. These days, cost, purchase and supply management is recognised as being a complex business skill. It requires specialist training and sector specific experience, which most companies do not have available in-house. Diverting key personnel from their core roles, to managing business overheads, isn't the best use of their time or the organisation's money.
"Many companies are turning to outsource this discipline and over 3,700 have chosen Auditel. For the majority of our clients, one Auditel consultant is able to offer effective cost management in most expenditures. If extra help is needed, they can draw from a team of over 200 specialists and a host of market-leaders in other key sectors. Here is one of our recent case studies."
Brook Charity:
Brook is the country's largest young people's sexual health charity. For 50 years, it has been providing support and advice to young people under the age of 25. As a charity, Brook has a duty to make sure that its purchasing is as cost-effective as possible.
With 17 centres across the UK, Brook had recently formed a Group structure and was keen to benefit fully from centralising services. Sally Hutchings, Head of Business Support says, "We engaged with Auditel in order to provide the additional expertise and capacity we required to achieve our procurement efficiency targets."
Initially, they were asked to review Brook's office supplies and commercial printing. At that time 18 different suppliers were used in their centres. This required Auditel sifting through a huge amount of data. However, the hard work paid off. After tendering to the market, all the suppliers were gradually reduced to a single office supplies company, leading to savings of 31% or £13,000 pa..
The Auditel team then turned their attention to Brook's procurement of electricity and gas. With the large number of historic contract arrangements in place, Auditel proposed the development of an Energy Procurement Strategy to enable Brook to benefit from consolidated purchasing and administration.
This has delivered energy savings of 23% (£21,000 pa) on electricity and 29% (£10,000 pa) on gas. Auditel continues to monitor all meters and does all monthly management and bill validation, leaving Brook to focus on its core skills, delivering excellent services for young people.
Ms Hutchings affirms, "Auditel provides a friendly and professional service. They have the market knowledge and expertise to secure the best possible pricing, and are always at the end of the phone for any queries, no matter how small. They care as much about our achieving value for money, as we do!"
Chris Allison adds, "Every month, year in and year out, we are saving tens of thousands of pounds for small, medium and large organisations, on their business costs. If you also want to have peace of mind, amid spiralling costs, start with our Auditel Business Health Check. We can include a Financial Health Check as well for you."
