NEW YORK, May 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Fashion designer Tina Knowles shared the applause this past weekend as the costumes she designed for her daughter, Beyonce, received high praise from press, fashion critics and fans who came to see the iconic entertainer perform at Revel Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey, over the Memorial Day weekend. The four sold-out shows at the beach front resort's premiere weekend were highly anticipated as it had been a year since the iconic entertainer performed and her first since giving birth to her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
Tina Knowles, supported by Tim White and Scott Nylund of her House of Dereon fashion label, designed two original costumes for House of Dereon Couture and supervised all of the wardrobe worn by Beyonceas she performed her non-stop, two hour set. The outfits, designed with luxury fabrics which included custom designed metallic leathers and velvet applique, incorporated hundreds of hours in handwork, custom finishing and intricate beading which included Swarovski Crystals. In addition, Ms. Knowles also designed some of the costumes for Beyonce's dancers.
"Performing these concerts were so personal to me," said Columbia Records/Sony Music artist, Beyonce. "Music is an expression of who I am and my performances needed to reflect my fashion aesthetic as well as the production elements incorporated into the staging for the shows." She continued, "My mother and I are so close and connected on so many levels, both personally and professionally.
