Hot Canadian teen rockers skip school to tour with Disney stars, Allstar Weekend
TORONTO, April 28 /PRNewswire/ - Done With Dolls, Canada's most talented all-girl teen rock band with popular videos on Much Music, YTV and the Family Channel, will be doing their homework on the road as they embark on their first National Tour hitting Toronto, London, Ottawa, Montreal, Winnipeg, Calgary and Surrey, B.C. from May 15 to 29, 2011. They're the opening act for Allstar Weekend, the handsome pop-punk band who sing their new hit, "Not Your Birthday" in the hotly anticipated Disney teen flick, Prom.

Produced by Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk, the girls of Done With Dolls will be bringing their own star power, strong vocals and good looks to the gigs, having been listed as #15 on Billboard's Top Emerging Canadian Artists. Their single, "I Don't Like" was in the Top Ten iTunes Rock Chart for four weeks and #19 on Canada's Much Music Countdown. Tickets for the Allstar Weekend/Done With Dolls shows are available via www.ticketmaster.com/allstar-weekend-tickets/artist/1450035.
Although they'll be skipping classes for a few weeks, Done With Dolls members Jordan and Kylie Miller, Eliza Enman McDaniel and Megan Fitchett are most excited about giving back to schools. That's because they're inviting Canadian students to create a video for their newest iTunes single, "Lies", and submit it to Lies.DoneWithDolls.com . Finalists will be posted on www.youtube.com/donewithdollsvideo for the public to view and "like". The winning student, class or group will win $1,000 for their school and a chance to collaborate on the official "Lies" music video.
"Our school has been really supportive of our music, so we're excited about this contest that lets us reach out to our fans and help raise money for their school," says Done With Dolls co-writer and lead singer, Jordan. "Plus, our song talks about stopping lies, which can do so much damage at school and elsewhere. So it's a really positive message."
Students, classes, schools and audiovisual school clubs who are interested in participating in the Done With Dolls Lies Video Challenge can visit Lies.DoneWithDolls.com for more details. Videos should be submitted before June 30, 2011. The winning student, class or group whose video best represents the song - as judged by Done With Dolls Inc. and King Noise Records - and which gets the most "likes" on YouTube will win $1,000 for their school's music or visual arts program and a chance to collaborate on the "Lies" music video. (Entrants under the age of 16 must include a parent's email address in the entry form so that their parents can email permission for them to share their contact information and enter the contest.)
