"We are excited to contribute to the development of our industry's future leaders," said Eileen Benwitt, chief talent officer at Horizon Media. "Leadership at Horizon recognizes the importance of nurturing young talent and providing a middle ground where opportunity meets potential."
The 4A's MAIP talent development program helps students from diverse backgrounds gain valuable experience working in prestigious advertising agencies on various accounts, connect with advertising and media professionals, and acquire valuable credentials to better position them in the marketplace. In addition to being on the brink of starting a career in advertising, MAIP fellows are selected for their ardent passion for advertising as expressed through their multi-dimensional applications.
"We are thrilled to partner with Horizon to bring together the bright young minds of our industry," said Singleton Beato, EVP, Talent at the 4A's. "This event allows our MAIP fellows from diverse ethnic backgrounds, to network with industry leaders, meet with their mentors, and connect with their peers."
In addition to the networking reception hosted by Horizon, the agency invited attendees to partake in a StrengthsFinder assessment workshop, created by Gallup, designed to identify one's talents and strengths. Gallup research proves that people succeed when they focus on what they do best, subsequently making them more productive and engaged. Horizon has already implemented the Gallup StrengthsFinder approach in its New York office, with much success.
"An integral part of Horizon is making sure that each employee is thriving in whichever team they are a part of," said Richard Johnson, VP, Talent Development at Horizon Media. "Employees may realize they are better suited to a different role, and can switch teams to ensure they are doing what drives them to reach their optimal productive potential."
