Honorees for 7th Annual ACG New York Champion's Awards Revealed
Alan Gelband, Heidi Deiner and Marcia Nelson to be Honored at Award Ceremony at the Metropolitan Club in NYC
NEW YORK, April 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ACG New York, the largest association of middle market deal making professionals in New York, today announced Alan Gelband, Heidi Deiner and Marcia Nelson as the honorees at the 7th Annual ACG New York Champion's Awards to be held on June 15th, 2017 at the Metropolitan Club in New York City.
Alan Gelband, Founder of Gelband & Company, will be honored with the Peter Hilton Founder's Award for his contributions to ACG New York and to the middle market private equity community at large. This year's Chapter Leadership Award will honor current ACG New York Chairperson Heidi Deiner, Director of Business Development for Murray Devine, for her leadership and significant contributions to the chapter's growth. And Marcia Nelson, Managing Director of Alberleen Family Office Solutions, will receive the Women of Leadership Award for her consistent support for the advancement of women in middle market private equity.

For over three decades, Peter Hilton Founder's Award recipient, Alan Gelband has been an advocate of promoting and attracting members to ACG New York. Since joining the chapter in 1987, Alan has served in a number of leadership positions including President and Assistant Treasurer, prior to serving as ACG Global Chair from 1992-93. Well known among his peers as "a charismatic networker", Alan was responsible for elevating the quality of speakers who addressed attendees at chapter events and contributed to the creation of a scholarship fund that supported students attending New York University and Fordham University.
In addition to being elected by her peers as the first female president and chairperson of the 64 year old organization, Chapter Service Award honoree Heidi Deiner has spearheaded virtually every major committee for ACG NY. Her efforts, unselfish service and leadership have brought more efficiency and productivity to the association's operations. In addition, Heidi will be recognized by ACG Global at the annual Intergrowth Conference in April with the 2017 Meritorious Service Award, which is given to chapter members who distinguish themselves by their contributions at both the Chapter and National level.
Marcia Nelson, recipient of the Women of Leadership Award, is a long standing Member of ACG New York. In addition to serving as Chair of the Champion Awards, Marcia also serves as a member of the Women of Leadership Committee and the Programming Committee to oversee 70 events held annually. Professionally, Marcia is Managing Director of Alberleen Family Office Solutions, working with family offices and private investors. Prior to that, Marcia served in business development roles with Anchin, Block & Anchin, Marcum and FMV Opinions. Marcia also is the founder of Deals & Divas a networking platform bringing together aspirational women (as well as men) to connect.
ACG New York's 7th Annual Champion's Awards will be held on June 15th, 2017 at the Metropolitan Club in New York City and will recognize and honor the leading middle market transactions, firms and dealmakers within the local ACG community responsible for supporting middle market growth in New York in the last year. The winners will be selected in the following categories – Business Services Deal of the Year (Consultant, Management Co, Valuation Firm), Consumer/Retail Deal of the Year, Healthcare/Pharma Deal of the Year, Manufacturing/Industrials Deal of the Year, Technology Deal of the Year, Cross Border Deal of the Year, Entertainment/Media/Telecom Deal of the Year and Financial Services Deal of the Year (Insurance, Real Estate, Finance).
