TAUNTON, Mass., Dec. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The national nonprofit, Homes for Our Troops (HFOT), headquartered in Taunton, Mass., has announced its plans to build 13 new specially adapted homes for severely injured Veterans in Texas. The construction will take place over 2016-17, and the homes will be presented mortgage-free by HFOT thanks to its network of donors, supporters and corporate partners.
HFOT builds specially adapted homes nationwide for severely injured Veterans Post-9/11, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Year to date, HFOT has delivered almost 200 specially adapted homes, 19 of them completed in Texas.
Homes for Our Troops was recently awarded a 4-star charity rating from Charity Navigator for its fifth consecutive year, continuing to execute its mission in a fiscally responsible manner. The organization ranks among the top 5 percent of all charities nationwide, outperforming most others based on sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency.
HFOT President/CEO, Major General USA, Ret. Timothy McHale, says he looks forward to his organization partnering with leaders in Texas, which is widely known for its support of military families and Veterans. "For those Service Members who have come back with life-altering injuries, that support and foundation begin with a specially adapted home to help the Veterans and their families live independently and focus on recovery." Adds McHale, "By getting involved with the Homes for Our Troops mission, whether it is by providing financial support or donating labor or construction materials, grateful citizens and business leaders throughout the state of Texas will have an opportunity to show they are keeping America's promise to Veterans. Working together, Texas and Homes for Our Troops can provide lifelong comfort and stability to these Veterans, their caregivers and families, and help them rebuild their lives."
Businesses or industry professionals in the region looking to assist with land acquisition, licensed/skilled laborers or building materials, may contact HFOT's Director of Construction, Mike Duckett at (508) 967- 9005.
