Home Run! Alex Rodriguez Goes To Bat For TruFusion
LAS VEGAS, June 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Innovative group fitness and yoga destination brand TruFusion has teamed up with iconic baseball star Alex Rodriguez in a substantial ongoing partnership. The World Series champion and 14-time All-Star, who retired from the New York Yankees in 2016, will be a major investor, an equity partner and a board member in the company alongside, Co-Founders Mike Borden and Martin Hinton and President/COO Jonathan Fornaci, and will sit on the board of directors.
As the company continues its expansion into new markets, the Miami-raised Rodriguez will also have ownership of franchise development rights for 20 TruFusion's across the state of Florida. In supporting the brand, which has franchise agreements in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, San Francisco, Phoenix/Scottsdale and St. Louis, Rodriguez will participate in select public relations, promotions and advertising initiatives for the company.
Considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time, Rodriguez is an American-Dominican athlete who played for the Seattle Mariners (1994-2000), Texas Rangers (2001-2003) and New York Yankees (2004-13, 2015-16) over the course of a 22-year career. Now in his professional post-season, he is making his foray into entertainment and business, becoming a monthly correspondent on "Good Morning America," a guest shark on "Shark Tank" and Fox Sports analyst.
"I've been spending a lot of time in Las Vegas and working out regularly at TruFusion and just loving it. I really saw what made the brand unique, and the opportunity arose to invest my time and belief in the company," stated Rodriguez, offering a clarification: "People toss around the word 'partnership' to describe every affiliation. This one is real and significant, and I look forward to working with the entire TruFusion team in the months ahead."
"There are only a handful of living athletes who embody the very best of a sport, let alone the greater essence of sportsmanship and athletic achievement," stated TruFusion President/COO Jonathan Fornaci. "We are thrilled that TruFusion and Alex resonate together in so many different ways – we also share the same charity, the Boys and Girls Club of America – and we are excited to work with him in continuing to build TruFusion into a successful national brand."
