Hollywood Celebs to Turn Out for 6th Annual 'Polo in the Palisades'
The Promises Foundation Hosts The 6th Annual Polo In The Palisades Fundraiser To Benefit Miriam's House
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Promises Foundation hosts the 6th Annual Polo in the Palisades fundraiser, benefiting Miriam's House, a transitional living home for low-income women and their children. The fundraiser will be held on September 18th at Will Rogers Historic State Park, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Master of Ceremonies Tom Arnold will lead the laughter during this fun-filled afternoon for the entire family with Live Auction Host Paul Hughes. The Honorary Benefit Committee includes Tim Allen, David Arquette, Darrell Brown, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Hansen, Judy Hofflund, Jim Irsay, Richard Lewis, Elisabeth Rogg, and Betty Wyman. Guests will enjoy good company, a fabulous lunch, a live auction, and three polo matches.
The Promises Foundation will honor Lia Iacocca Assad and Victor Assad, Roger Canevari, and Bob Forrest for their dedication and service to our community.
Lia Iacocca Assad and Victor Assad will receive the award for Distinguished Community Service. Mr. and Mrs. Assad are on the Board of Directors of Planet Hope - providing services for homeless women and children. Victor serves on the Promises Foundation Board of Directors, helping low-income families in recovery.
Roger Canevari will receive the award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Recovery. Roger has 27 years of experience in addiction medicine as a Chemical Dependency Counselor and Board Certified Family Systemic Interventionist. He has been a part of hundreds of interventions throughout North America, Europe and South America.
Bob Forrest will accept the Fourth Annual Bob Timmins Award for Outstanding Service. Mr. Forrest has spent the last 15 years being of service, becoming one of the foremost chemical dependency counselors working in Southern California. In 2010, Bob founded Hollywood Recovery Services, located in the heart of Hollywood, providing outpatient services for addicts and their families.
