High Yield Manager DDJ Capital Management Appoints Laura Zink to Senior Client Service Role
WALTHAM, Mass., May 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- DDJ Capital Management, LLC, an institutional manager of leveraged credit strategies for investors worldwide, is pleased to announce the appointment of investment management industry veteran Laura Zink as a director of client service effective May 5, 2014.
Waltham, Massachusetts-based DDJ Capital created this new role in light of its recent growth. DDJ Capital has increased client assets under management to over $7.5 billion as of April 30, 2014 from approximately $5 billion at year-end 2012. Such asset growth resulted from additional mandates from new clients, net inflows from existing clients, and market appreciation across each of the firm's significant investment strategies. The firm's business development and client service team now consists of eight people.
Previously, Ms. Zink served as a relationship manager at Standish Mellon Asset Management. Earlier, she worked in client service and investment analyst positions at BMO Global Asset Management, Northern Trust and Mercer Investment Consulting.
"Laura brings 12 years of industry experience and we're delighted that she has joined DDJ Capital as we endeavor to continue providing outstanding client service to our global investor base," said Jack O'Connor, the firm's head of business development and client service.
DDJ Capital manages opportunistic high yield, core high yield, senior loan, and strategic income strategies for clients, with approximately half of the firm's more than $7.5 billion in assets managed on behalf of non-U.S. investors.
The firm's Strategic Income Plus strategy ranked first over the three-year period ended March 31, 2014 among a fixed income high yield universe of 189 products, and second for the past 12 months also ended March 31, 2014 among a similar universe of 205 products, according to eVestment, a leading provider of reporting and analytics for institutional investors. Meanwhile, the DDJ U.S. Opportunistic High Yield strategy ranked in the 13th and 20th percentiles, respectively, over the same three-year and one-year periods, also according to eVestment.
Both DDJ's Strategic Income Plus and U.S. Opportunistic High Yield strategies target middle market B- and CCC-rated bonds, syndicated bank debt, and direct loans, with Strategic Income adding stressed debt and equities.
