SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Healthcare Trust of America, Inc. (NYSE:HTA), the largest dedicated owner and operator of medical office buildings in the United States, announced today it has closed on a new $200 million senior unsecured term loan, extending the Company's debt maturities by 7 years to September 26, 2023, with a reduced interest rate of LIBOR plus 165%. The previous $155 million facility was due to expire July 19, 2019 with an interest rate of LIBOR plus 170%.
"The timely execution of this transaction, combined with our recent equity and bond offerings, maintains our low leverage and liquidity while extending maturities with attractively priced capital," said Robert Milligan, EVP & Chief Financial Officer. "Our investment grade balance sheet and low leverage positions us for both future investment opportunities and economic strength for HTA's future growth."
The term loan was executed through a bank syndicate, which included, Wells Fargo Bank, National Association, as administrative agent, Wells Fargo Securities, LLC, BMO Capital Markets Corp., Capital One, National Association, and PNC Capital Markets, LLC as joint lead arrangers and joint bookrunners, and U.S. Bank National Association, as documentation agent.
