Healthcare Businesswomen's Association CEO Laurie Cooke, RPh, CAE, Honored as Mentor of the Year by ASAE
FAIRFIELD, N.J., Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Healthcare Businesswomen's Association is proud to announce that our CEO Laurie Cooke, RPh, CAE has been named the Mentor of the Year by the American Society of Association Executives. This award honors an outstanding mentor who has shared her time and expertise to guide, teach, support and encourage mentees on the journey to personal and professional success. The award will be presented at the In Honor of Women luncheon on November 2, 2011 at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC.
In her nomination letter, Marianne Fray, MBA, CAE, wrote, "Laurie Cooke deserves this award because of her outstanding contributions to hundreds of individuals across multiple companies, industries and communities. As HBA's first CEO, Laurie Cooke serves as a mentor to her staff and numerous volunteers. She also participates in a formal mentoring program for teenage girls in her community. She is a founding member of the Philadelphia chapter of The CEO Trust Organization, where c-suite executives come together to support and mentor one another; a judge for the 2010 and 2011 Philadelphia Business Journal Women of Distinction Award; a national ally to Vision 2020, a campaign to make equality a national priority through shared leadership among women and men. In 2009 Laurie was named to the PharmaVOICE 100 for her leadership and mentoring.
