Health Communications Leader Tom Jones Joins Finn Partners As Senior Partner In The Agency's Health Practice
New Position Champions Practice Efforts in Health and Wellness
NEW YORK, March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Global marketing and communications firm, Finn Partners, announced today the appointment of Tom Jones as senior partner and head of Health & Wellness, a specialty group within its fast-growing international Health Practice. He will also serve on the FINN Health Academy faculty, the professional development program offered to staff throughout the agency's 18 global offices. In this new position, Jones will report to Kristie Kuhl, managing partner, New York and Chicago Health Group and US Pharma head.
Jones joins FINN from Ketchum Communications where he was head of its North American Health Practice. He brings a track record of achievement in both agency and pharma client positions. Jones specializes in healthcare marketing communications and created award-winning creative programs for many of the industry's top biopharma innovators. At FINN, Tom will champion Practice efforts around patient activation, where access to and responsibility for health and wellness ultimately rests.
"One of the most important challenges in our sector today involves enabling consumers to have a voice in their health experience, especially around personal care and access to physicians and therapies," said Kuhl. "Tom embodies a collaborative spirit and demonstrates an ability to develop campaigns that inspire action. When people understand their choices and choose a course of action, they are more invested in the outcome."
"FINN culture is a magnet for stellar health communications professionals, and they are attuned to industry trends, especially recognizing that consumer voice influences payer, provider and policymaker decisions when it comes to access to care," said Jones. "FINN is leading the way with new thinking, models and approaches. I'm honored to join this dynamic and collaborative community," he added.
Prior to joining FINN, Jones led Health Practices at Ketchum and Makovsky and his clients and account teams were honored with numerous public relations creative awards. On the client side, he served as executive director of communications for the primary care division of Novartis. Jones served on the editorial boards of industry journals including PM360 and is on the board of trustees of Morris Arts in New Jersey.
"Tom's focus on engaging consumers reinforces FINN's commitment to our clients – payers, policymakers, product innovators, providers and patient communities – in their quest to improve human health, increase efficiencies and reduce costs," said Gil Bashe, managing partner, Global Health, FINN. "Many at FINN have worked with Tom previously and saw how his focus on creating communication campaigns that change people's understanding and behavior improves and saves lives," he added.
