"Harrah's Entertainment is proud to be first gaming company to receive a perfect score and we are humbled to be the only gaming company to receive a perfect rating from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation on its Corporate Equality Index for four consecutive years," said Fred Keeton, vice president of finance, external affairs and chief diversity officer for Harrah's Entertainment. "This 'four-peat' is a reflection of Harrah's commitment to create and facilitate programs and policies that offer our all of our employees equal opportunities."
"For the fourth consecutive year, Harrah's Entertainment has earned a 100% on the Corporate Equality Index, making it one of the 'Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.' The Human Rights Campaign congratulates Harrah's Entertainment on this distinction and looks forward to our continued work together on LGBT workplace inclusion," said Daryl Herrschaft director of the HRC Foundation's Workplace Project.
The Corporate Equality Index has provided a roadmap for employers to address their policies, benefits and other practices broadly for the past nine years. This year an unprecedented 337 major U.S. businesses earned the top rating of 100 percent, up from 305 companies last year. These workers are protected from employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression because of their employers' policies on diversity and inclusion, training and benefits.
"We are thrilled the Human Rights Campaign Foundation has once again recognized our work with the LGBT community. With new diversity initiatives and a continued relationship with this important organization, we hope to make even greater strides toward equality in the years to come," said Keeton.
