GUESS & Teen Vogue Announce Chari-T Contest Winner with LA Event
NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday, August 27, GUESS and Teen Vogue will celebrate the Chari-T Design Contest they hosted in partnership earlier this year, introducing guests to contest winner Brea Weinreb and her design supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of America, at the GUESS Beverly Center store, 131 North La Cienega Boulevard.
The Chari-T Design Contest encouraged readers to design a T-shirt to benefit a charity of their choice. Together Teen Vogue and GUESS selected five finalists whose designs were presented in a digital platform for peer voting, and eventually one winner. "Winning this contest is a dream come true. I was looking for a way to help Boys & Girls Clubs of America since I started tutoring at my local organization and this contest was the perfect opportunity," said Miss Weinreb, a high-school senior from New York.
The fun-filled event will be co-hosted by Ella Marciano and Miss Weinreb, whose T-shirt will be available for purchase during the event, on www.Guess.com, and at the Teen Vogue Haute Spot in New York during Fashion Week. GUESS will donate a portion of all Chari-T sales to Boys & Girls Clubs of America and event guests will receive 20% off their purchases when they donate a minimum of $5 to the organization.
"It is very important to GUESS, and on a personal level to me and my brother, Maurice, that we support charitable causes and encourage our youth to do the same. By entering into this promotion with Teen Vogue we hope to give other teenagers the opportunity to change the word we live in for the better," said Paul Marciano, GUESS CEO and Vice Chairman.
In addition to being able to shop GUESS's fall collection during the event, guests will be treated to fun activities, such as a DIY friendship bracelet station, shaved ice cart, photo booth, and sips and sweets. An exclusive gift bag will be available with every purchase when guests sign up for the GUESS List Loyalty program.
