Grove School Launches New Website
Site offers increased interaction for parents, staff and students; showcases growth and impact
MADISON, Conn., June 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Grove School, a co-ed, therapeutic boarding school for adolescents in Madison, Conn., recently launched a new website (www.GroveSchool.org) with dedicated communication channels for parents, students, clinicians and staff.
The website was redesigned to increase connection among community members and support Grove School's goal of helping students develop and sustain meaningful relationships. Among its new features is an alumni portal where former students can re-establish a connection with Grove School and remain informed about upcoming events and alumni program offerings.
The new website also streamlines the admission process, allowing prospective families to complete the initial admission application online. The site walks families through each step, detailing the interview, application review and decision-making processes.
To complement its online admissions functionality, the website provides a detailed overview of the clinical, extracurricular and college prep programs available at Grove School. The program takes a wholistic approach to education, psychotherapy, and milieu support for the individual student. It provides a college preparatory experience, while also including social skills assistance and vocational exploration, where appropriate, as well as encouraging the development of positive goals and values for the maturing adolescent.
"The new website is seen as a more sophisticated architecture that highlights the many programs and services offered by Grove School. There is a definite synergy with how we approach the design of our campus. The new and refurbished buildings and grounds give added credence to, and enhance the visual experience of our students and staff, along with the many visitors to our campus," said Richard Chorney, President and CEO, Grove School. "A team of Executive staff spent many hours brainstorming what we wanted to show and tell about our Program and its philosophical and therapeutic foundations. We want to give a real sense of our education process, with all its varied complexities, yet also include the balance provided by our broad and creative activities. Art, Drama, Music and Sports along with Adventure, cultural and intellectual opportunities, all provide a wonderful mixture where there is literally 'something for everyone'. We hope to not only explain what we do, but to also give the viewer a sense of who does the work. The hope is that this new website will show how our mission is infused with the goals and values we espouse."
To extend the strong sense of community beyond Grove School's campus, the site features snapshots from life on campus, including a 'Picture of the Week' which showcases recent programs and events. Recent photos include a snapshot from the ASTEE©(Alternative Site Therapeutic and Educational Experiences) Trip to El Salvador and construction of the school's new gymnasium. Student success stories also extend the sense of community by highlighting the achievements of alumni.
