GridWeek 2012 to Uncover Value Achieved from Complexity
Electric industry stakeholders gather to tackle the Smart Grid value challenge, Oct. 2-4, Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON, July 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Clasma Events today announced that GridWeek 2012 will tackle the Smart Grid value challenge in the sixth annual conference, October 2-4, 2012 in Washington, D.C., gathering industry stakeholders to discuss how to achieve Smart Grid value in an increasingly complex environment.
The utility industry is facing complexity on two major levels. This includes the external complexities of a changing energy industry -- including policy uncertainty and the falling price of natural gas -- as well as the internal complexities of managing utilities' Smart Grid systems -- complete with a broader system view, big data, and cyber security challenges.
"The goal of the conference is to identify key examples of Smart Grid systems creating value and returns for utilities by understanding and taming complexity," said Anto Budiardjo, President, Clasma Events.
Value-driven agenda: GridWeek will explore how utilities can derive value from: (1) existing Smart Grid systems and (2) future Smart Grid investments. These issues will be explored in tracks and sessions dedicated to:
- Big drivers, including global and industry challenges and opportunities.
- Utility business, including intra-utility challenges, such as value creation, new business models, and managing system complexity.
- Showcase, providing a closeup view of Smart Grid progress to date.
International focus: GridWeek 2012 will also gather the largest-to-date delegation of international Smart Grid experts in 2012 as part of the Department of Commerce (DOC) International Buyer Program (IBP), integrating international perspectives on each of the 30 panels and plenary sessions at the conference.
Get involved: There are still ample opportunities to get involved in GridWeek as a sponsor, speaker, or partner. Visit www.GridWeek.com for more information.
