PLAINSBORO, N.J., April 26, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Novo Nordisk is honored to announce that Great Place to Work® and Fortune have recognized it as one of the country's best workplaces for giving back.
"As one of a handful of companies in the world to incorporate the Triple Bottom Line business model into its company bylaws, Novo Nordisk's commitment to social responsibility and to serving people and communities in need is at the heart of everything we do," says Diana Blankman, Senior Director of U.S. Corporate Giving and Social Impact. "We believe that a healthy economy and a healthy society are interconnected and using those resources to address life's challenges is woven into the fabric of our company and our culture."
Great Place to Work® analyzed surveys from nearly 600 companies to rank those that best create a sense of purpose and meaning among their employees through involvement in the community. Not only do these workplaces stand out for their generosity, their team members also express a great deal of pride in what their organizations accomplish.
The Best Workplaces for Giving Back took into consideration feedback from about 240,000 employees in a diverse range of industries, as well as their companies' volunteer programs and charitable giving relative to revenue. Novo Nordisk is ranked 30th on the list.
"The Best Workplaces for Giving Back demonstrate more than just a commitment to charity," said Kim Peters, executive vice president at Great Place to Work®. "These organizations have earned employees' admiration by involving staffers in their community service efforts and contributing resources in ways that genuinely reflect their unique cultures."
Novo Nordisk and the other winning companies were selected based on responses to the Trust Index©, Great Place to Work's employee assessment survey. Employees rated their sense that they make a difference in their jobs, the meaningfulness of their work, and the impact they feel their organizations make in the community. The list also took into account company programs and an analysis of anonymous employee comments about their workplaces.
The Best Workplaces for Giving Back is one of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work® and Fortune based upon employee survey feedback from Great Place to Work®-certified organizations.
